This post is in response to the fact that lately, on and off, I have seen @hypnosisfetish, who goes by Aaron Glotfelter, posting previews of his porn on Tumblr. I have periodically seen it reblogged, and it has occurred to me that some members of the community, particularly newer ones, are not familiar with him, so I want to fix what we call the issue of the “missing stair.”

I have heard many stories, both first and secondhand, about Glotfelter’s inappropriate and non-consensual behavior, including, it is my understanding, him being banned from multiple events. Still, I can only speak for my own experiences.

My own experiences are a bit complicated, and the term “consent violator” doesn’t allow for much nuance. In short, I met him years ago, at an event that was a non-kink event with kink elements. I had no sexual experience, in kink or otherwise, a history with self-harm related to my guilt over my hypnosis fetish, and absolutely no knowledge of how BDSM or consensual erotic hypnosis works. When I met Glotfelter, I communicated all of this to him, and he still offered to play with me. I accepted.

At no point in the scene did he negotiate, check in with me, establish safe words, or even discuss the notion of consent. He displayed no sense of care for how I was doing, or caution with his actions.

At no point did I tell him to stop, but I also did not understand that that was my right as a bottom. As such, during the scene we went much further than I was comfortable, including him installing longterm suggestions and conditioning involving him specifically, as well as him doing the quickest, crudest “therapy” to cure me of desire to self-harm.

I never saw him again. It took me months to understand why I was so distraught afterwards, until I learned more about BDSM and realized that our play had completely operated outside of the traditional framework for negotiation and consent.

If you have more questions for me, feel free to to PM me, and feel free to reblog this. The goal of this is that I would like it on the record that he is a problematic player.

I’m so sorry this happened to you. Somebody mentioned this to me, and I stopped reblogging his porn. I hope others will follow suit.

Thank you for coming forward. I will do the same and make sure the source of a reblog is no longer from him.

I’ve heard stories about Glotfelter, including statements that he’s a huge part – if not the whole part – of why a lot of kink groups in New England are skeptical at best of the ability to do hypnoplay ethically. I didn’t realize he goes by hypnosisfetish here on tumblr.

Yeah, he’s one to avoid.

Huh. Useful information, thank you. I had him followed and have reblogged his content. Thank you for letting me know about this so I can stop doing that.

Oh wow……The commenter wasn’t joking that one of his models was probably unaware what was going to happen. Here’s an active link to the video in question – https://www.clips4sale.com/studio/13033/14439781/Faith+in+a+Trance

I’m going to copy/paste from the description below. Emphasis mine.

“Faith is someone that I know socially, and the session was arranged through mutual acquaintance.Faith is in to doing sexy things, and doesnt have a problem with nudity. So she has a vague understanding that shes her to have a sexy adventure, but apparently isnt expecting to be in a trance.Sometimes things work out this way, Im not too particularly worried or concerned.

I ask her if shes ever been in a trance before, and she mentions that she has a bit of a historywith people trying to put her in a trance her. Once again, this is seldom a problem for me. She tells me that shes willing to have an experience, and we start the process fresh and new….”

and later on in the description…

“On the floor, shes relaxed, and her curves look delicious. Shes in a trance and sexy and focusedon my voice. I reinforce the idea that she is completely in a trance. I then trigger an orgasm, andthen have her take off her panties as fast as possible. I change the number 2 that is looping in her mind to the phrase Im obedient. I have her count with Im obedient. When I trigger her orgasms it hits her even harder. I have her spread her legs and she looks good.

I ask her if theres anywhere I cant touch her. She nods her head no. I take hold of her, and whileshe repeats over and over again Im obedient, I trigger incredible pleasure and establish firm dominance

So not only did he do all of this to someone who wasn’t fully aware what she consented to (if she even consented at all) he also negotiated while in trance and immediately jumped to “establishing firm dominance”.

What a fucking shithead….I remember his old videos were some of the first I saw on the internet when I was looking into hypno porn. I’m glad I moved on. This is complete and utter bullshit and anyone with even half a bit of decency can see why this is a problem. Not just that he did it, but that he practically parades it!

There are stories from at least a couple of models that did one-time videos with him of him outright going against what they’d negotiated would happen on-camera.  I don’t know how much to consider regarding descriptions of videos since anyone can describe things in ways to cater to a base that may or may not be factual… but there are worse stories from subjects than what he parades around in descriptions.

The 2nd GKE (Geeky Kink Event) ever didn’t allow for any hypnosis presentations because the main organizing body had had horrible experiences with Glotfelter at a different event between the 1st and 2nd GKE.  At the time, I had only heard it was “a stage hypnotist that enjoys erotic hypnosis,” and I was irate that someone represented us so badly… it was probably within this past year that I found out it specifically was Glotfelter.

I know there are some regions where the erotic hypnosis community of said regions have crappy relations with the general kink community, or is only starting to “heal,” in part because of experiences with Glotfelter and experiences being so crap that they didn’t want to have anything to do with hypnosis at all with a view of it being predatory, thanks in no small part to a creepy, arrogant prick that’s predatory as all getout if ya let yourself get past his creepy-factor.

That’s not including at least one former acquaintance taking part in an erotic stage show he was invited to do for a dungeon in New York City, and him continuing past them calling out their safe word (in a portion involving tickling, I believe), and, if I remember correctly, also mis-gendered them at least a couple of times.  I wouldn’t be surprised if there was more, but it’s been a while and I don’t exactly have contact with that acquaintance anymore.

More things ^^^

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I had heard of the name, but hadnt realised what kind of guy he was.

Welp.

Missing Stair indeed, I was aware of the guy, but not of this. Signal boost.

I was not aware. Thanks. Banned.

I suppose maybe I should feel guilty banning someone I’ve never heard of just because of stories of some internet people, but as several of the above responses are people that I have met and think are cool, maybe not.
